The K16 Destroyer is ideal for High Security Shredding applications. It has been evaluated by NSA and is listed on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List with an NSA/CSS Performance Test Rating of High Volume for Paper. Security Level ISO/IEC 21964 (DIN 66399): P-7 (Paper), O-6 (Optical Media).
The K-16D DOD High Security Shredder is equipped with two separate cutting systems and feed openings. The P-7 shredder has A cutting system with a 0.8mm x 5mm Level P-7 cut for the classified destruction of Paper and Top-Secret Documents. Another special 1.5mm x 2mm cutting system that exceeds the Level O-6 standard for the secure shredding of Optical and Mixed Media to include Compact Discs (CDs), Digital Versatile Discs (DVDs) and Blu-ray Discs (BDs), EMV Credit Card, Magnetic Stripe Card, CAC ID, SIM Card. It has an effective throughput of over 29 Reams per Hour and 2,550 Disks per Hour.
This CD and Paper shredder includes a cutting head built using Floating Head Technology. Floating Head Cutters are more durable and wear resistant and are easier to repair in case of accidental damage than most shredders that use solid block cutting heads. Cutting head repair is possible with the replacement of individual cutters in the event of damage, an option not available on most shredders.
The K-16D is has dual feed opening Safety Covers and is equipped with the “ENERGY SMART” system for power saving stand-by mode. Heavy Duty Chain Drive and Steel Gears with no internal nylon or plastic gears that are common in lower quality shredders. Also, the DOD-approved shredder includes an Internal Integrated Automatic Oiler that lubricates the cutting head during operation and an All-Steel Cabinet on castors.
